BFTS Day 08
This is Bryan Anthony in studio playing the intro of ‘Future Man’, track 4 off our EP.
Don’t reason with it, don’t try to change it, dominate it.
Guitar Pro Pre-Production
We talked about it in a couple previous posts and here it finally is. To get everything as tight as a Jewish budget we input all our songs and all their layers into Guitar Pro. This along with a click to the right tempo is an ideal way to go into recording reducing all doubts of riffs and timing.
The clip is pretty blurry as YouTube reduces the quality somewhat, and there is a limited window size we could record the screen with, but you can get the idea as how the midi sound is for Bryan’s guitar track. This is only a snippet as we have tracks with dozens of layers including drums, bass, keyboard and several vocal harmony layers.
After the EP is released we’ll put the Guitar Pro files up for download for you guys to jam with.
Grind House Teaser Trailor
If our EP is half as cool as this, our job is done..
Keyboard Taster
We’ve been keeping it quite elite for the past few months but the rumors have leaked out, probably by us, we have keyboard on the new EP!
And it’s not just the intro of the EP, we’ve integrated keyboard into choruses, verses and breakdowns. Today at practice we took a couple rough clips of Scott doing his thing behind the keys. Right now it looks like he’ll be playing keyboard for the EP unless we find someone to find the position in the next 6 weeks.
Our good mate Devon from The Doppler Effect will be jamming the keys with us at Ramfest next weekend so Scotty can stay behind the drums where he was born.
This vid is just a taster of the sound we’re cooking up.
BFTS guitar in one take
During our tour to JHB we decided to check out Truthcore Records’ Studio in Rooseveldt Park. We agreed to record one track to test out the sound and quality of the studio. The track being the title track off our upcoming EP, Battle for the Sky.
We were really impressed by Mike (ex-Tweak) and Gareth and felt that we were recording with people that actually related to our style of music and knew what we wanted to sound like before we even told them.
Check out this clip of Bryan laying down his actual guitar line in one take.
