George Review
Since Mixing is still going down and Design still being decided on we decided to blog the amazing time we had on Thursday night in a town called George and Friday night at a Fallout Sight named Keenan.
ManINsuiT had the privilege of playing the Third Leg of The Battle of the Bands at Stones in George, we where not in contention and Bryan Anthony served as a judge.
Mr. Anthony said he was impressed with all the bands and marked them accordingly, Ascetic emerged as the victors for the night. So well done guys, good luck for the future!
But goddamn can George party hard! From Jaager bomb specials to drink-stealing girlfriends, George can party with the best and at times we felt that we might end up beneath the table with those Georgians standing victorious above us! But alas, we are Spartans and thus we do not go down easy…
ManINsuiT played last and we can honestly say it was one of most fun shows we’ve played in awhile. We’ll definitely be heading back to George on our EP launch tour in November. Thanks to everyone for supporting us and everyone who came to swap stories over drinks afterwards!
We even got to sign a rad new guitarists awesome Ibanez…not gonna lie, we felt pretty bad about tarnishing that masterpiece with our signatures!
In-between playing and watching we met a bunch of cool people and sold a couple of our debut album ‘The Last’ which was pretty cool. We also found out that George is salivating for bands to play their venues, so to bands reading this…go hit that place!
After the show we hit the bar big time and woke up with massive holes in our wallets and the sickening thought of having to drive 5 hours home with massive hangovers!
Thanks to Hannes Carstens for organizing the rad accommodation, awesome food and drink, and a big thanks to everyone that turned out to support the competing bands and us.
Cheers,
ManINsuiT

BFTS Day 00
Finally ManINsuiT touched down on Joburg soil. Saying goodbye to their air hostesses and carrying Scott’s bags (who was still high up in the sky on tranquilizers) Rob, Bryan Anthony and Scott made their way to the lift. Brent and Kamil are flying up on Friday.
Gareth Dunn (Truthcore CEO) drove us to our rad flat that’s literally 10 seconds walk from the studio. We met up with Mike Ascot (Producer/ Engineer) and after talking shit for a while, Scott along with Kyle (Unwritten Friday) began tuning (actually, mostly Kyle) the drums.
After the sound came out well, Mike… Miked up the drums and began tweaking the mic’s and channels. Scott got bored and started on his Amstels and some cool rained out cricket.
We sorting out G-man (left) straight up front in cash to get the finances out the way. Everything is looking better than we’d hoped for and recording starts at 9am sharp. So the next two weeks will be stressful but worth it!
Cheers,
Rob, Bryan Anthony, Scott
Flights Booked
This morning we booked our flights to JHB. We decided after our first tour to JHB/PTA, when we drove from Cape Town, that would be the last time and we’re sticking to it.
Because we’ve been playing in the Post-Hardcore genre over the past 2 years, we’ll be flying Mango Airlines;) Hopefully when we’re touring again later in the year we’ll step it up a notch. We managed to get returns for R698 each, so we pretty stoked about that.
We leave Cape Town soil on Tuesday 03 April at 10:30am and touch it again on Monday 16 April 7pm.. loads of time to record 7 tracks and get a couple more shows under the belt!
