Yesterday we headed off into the depths of Cape Town and took our first photos to tie in with the new concept of the album. Stay tuned for a full report on the outing.

Happy Birthday Nose

jagersWe’ve been pretty slack on updates lately, maybe it has something to do with Brent’s ear reduction operation or Scott’s insteps, either way we apologize for the laziness…

The EP is in the home stretch we’ve received several mixes now, each one surpassing the previous in quality, the songs are sounding epic. Very stoked so far, we should have a final mix beginning of September so you guys can expect to here a track early September then the single release probably around October. EP looks set to be released countrywide roundabout November with a tour to promote the bastard so keep checking back for updates about that.

Design is still being worked on, haven’t really found the look we’re going for yet so thats the front we’re most stuck on now.

Other news, our Jewish friend Robert Goldstein Hope celebrates his birthday today, so if you see him, ignore the fake gold around his neck and buy him a Jagermeister. Happy Birthday Nose!

We’ve been working hard on our live show, getting all the new songs down perfectly along with a a show thats going to blow you guys away, so expect to see the new set October sometime. We’ve also got a couple of shows coming up so check out our MySpace to see where.

Cool, thats about it for now, thanks for checking up on us!

Tom is not my friend

Tom Anderson is not my friendThis week two of the more emotionally detached members in ManINsuiT, tired of the small talk, committed myspace suicide.

Destroying their personal profiles in hope of more stimulating experiences, new chapter of liberty has opened on these bad boys. No more bullshit bulletins, pretty picture comments, miserable ringtone messages or meaningless penis enlargement comments. Rob and Bryan said “We have no further comments… for myspace”

We are joyful to announce that at Fridays Skate Park show in Somerset, Steve Alfred Benjamin will join the pack. Get your dancing shoes out children.. it’s party time!

BFTS Day 11

Fender Rrecision BassWell today Rob finally got his chance to record his bass. I sat with him and Chris though most of the recording. It went well on my
opinion. A couple changes were made in pretty much each song, Rob and Chris taking their time to get every riff and rhythm perfectly in place with either the kick or the guitars.

After Rob was through dominating on the bass Bryan and I proceeded to complete the guitars for the intro. This was the last bit of guitaring I had to do for the EP and it was the easiest, a couple of layers later it was all over for me. Intro was done and the evening was on its way, we finished up with a bit of gang vocals and then got our drink on! We decided to go big 2nite and headed to Melville Cool Runnings.

When 12 struck it was Kamils birthday and he definitely proved to us his is a worthy member of the suits! It was out of control, just the way we like it, and loads of fun.

Cheers,
Brent aka. Heiny

BFTS Day 09

ManINsuiT GardeningYesterday Ricky from Revenge.co.za popped in the studio to do an interview with us for his website. After he filled his pad with a couple of pages of ramblings and took a few photos we continued with tracking ‘The Time Machine’ on guitar, which is sounding mean.

Next up was Bryan adding an awesome acoustic part to the middle of Future Man. The combo of acoustic picking just before the keyboard comes in for first time in the song, still gives me goosebumps.

I’m lank keen to get the Bass out the way but Mike and Chris insist we leave it to the end and get all guitar and vocals out the way cos we can rush Bass but definitely not vocals. I totally agree. (we recorded our last album with 10 tracks in 4 days as you can hear with some of the rushed vocals)

Today we did the vocals for ‘The Time Machine’ and ‘Future Man’. It’s amazing how much vocals can change a song. Mr. Anthony (Bryan) was trying some new styles and was really getting emotional (in a non emo way) in some sections. Scotty-too-hotty also added some sweet backing and we messed around with a couple effect inspired by Imogen Heap.

To end off another good day in the studio we watched Donnie Darko. It was so goddamn awesome we watched it twice.

Take it easy,
Rob
