Management Speaks

Bryan Swanson, ManINsuiT ManagerHey guys!!

So this is my first BFTS blog and thought I would just say a few things that are happening in the Suits corner… First and foremost, the EP is in the mixing pot and excitement is growing within the band and hopefully everywhere! I’m wanting to sort out an awesome distro deal asap! and make sure everyone country and worldwide can get it.

Then, if you’ve been smart enough to join the mailing list, you will know that not only do we have our new keyboardist (who rocks out with his you know what) but we are working on the early stages of our next video!!

Current talks are working out budgets, concepts, timeline etc - but with all going well, we will have it on a screen near you before the launch later this year! Im super excited for this, we want something pro, something to show what SA has to offer, musically and visually and I think we have a good chance of getting this to happen…so keep an eye out on the blog ( and join the mailing list )

Shows are also currently being worked on aswell as bookings and more varied shows, we want to spice things up!!

So all in all, we want Battle For the Sky to be huge, not just for us but for everyone!

Well that wasn’t so hard… histories in the making.

One week left

Scott teaching Kamil his keyboard partsToday we had our first meeting with Kamil and discussed the last of what is needed for JHB. All our flights including Kamil’s are now booked and it’s just practicing the songs from now on until take off.

Truthcore Records hooked us up with a pimping pad near the studio fully furnished complete with bedding, microwave, stove, fridge, TV, Dvd, showers, bathroom, lounge, bedroom, and a super awesome gay zen garden. So the PS2 is coming up in the back of the guitar amps;)

Scott also click tracked the keyboard straight into Reason (the recording program) for Kamil to jam to in the next week.

At the end of the meeting Kamil asked us if we wanted to hear some beats and sounds he’d been working on that he thought would sound sick on the EP. We thought why not so he popped them on all modest and all… you know that feeling when you outta cash at the end of an awesome night out and give the bar lady a R20 for a R8 dumpie and she gives you R42 back..

We say no more..

Recording Dates Confirmed

Scott looking into the futureWe had another heavy meet today at our manager Bryan Swanson’s place.

After a few beers and brownies we got down to planning a few shows in JHB while we there, also lineup a few interviews and finalizing recording details.

We’ve confirmed a minimum of 10 days to record the 7 tack EP at Truthcore Records studio in Roosevelt Park, JHB and a maximum of 14 days. We confirmed with Gareth Dunn (Truthcore CEO;) that they’ve still got that awesome Mesa Boogie and have added two keyboards including a fat Yamaha baby grand electronic bad boy.

We also really dug the drum sound from the Battle for the Sky track so we’re working on a similar setup.

EP Track list coming next week!

Steve popped in

Steve popped in So this morning we were in the depth of a vital band meeting and who would have guessed what the catfish dragged in.. no other that Steve our ex screamer.

He popped in to say hi and sat through about ten minutes of our “Financial Discussion” then started smiling to himself, thinking “Boy, am I glad I’m outta there!”.. then left soon after to pursue Total’s R1 nik-naks, the real reason he came to Lakeside..

Nah, was good to see you buddy.

Can’t wait to share the stage again at Ramfest!
