A Word from the Amish

New Maps Of HellMany aspects of the process of ‘BFTS’ are in the final stages. In just a few weeks we will have the final master, cover art and a new photo shoot. It’s been over a year sojourning so far. The result will without doubt be astounding. Kamil’s post production skills has seen our music evolve into something that before we did not have the capacity to pull off.

Epic symphonic string, piano and choir section has shifted ManINsuiT out of their previous style, into a fresh new sound while remaining true to their punk rock heritage.

The production is of the highest international quality. ‘BFTS’ is a drastic departure from ‘The Last’ in say 50 000 ways.

The Sapranos

Regrettable the last ever episode of The Sopranos was shot the other day. Bringing to an end the best series ever screened! Upon the heels of this devastating news, comes consolation at the hands of BAD RELIGION and STRUNG OUT’s new releases. Hey some times good things emerge in the darkest hour, mostly not though. Bad Religion’s “New Maps of Hell” goes on sale tomorrow.

Surely our EP will hit our friends and fans in the g zone. The Mix is great so far. Hells bells guitar, drums like the hammers of a 1000 blacksmiths pounding out destiny, vocals that soar and transfix (minus the scremo, emo , metal, hardcore burden), rumbling bass and great overall bad boy attitude.

Keep your dicks up,
Bryan Anthony

First Mix back

Bryan Anthony and ChrisA couple of days back we received the first mix of the re-recorded track Battle for the Sky.

Chris (left) and Mike are busy doing two different mixes. So we basically get to choose what we dig from each of them.

The Battle for the Sky mix was Chris’s and the verdict right now is that it is fucking incredible! The work that these two guys are putting into the tracks is awesome, the track when compared and played on virtually every playback outlet is sounding absolutely 100% pro. volume wise, clarity wise it really exceeded out expectations.

The mix was mostly to figure out a good sound for the kit, Scott dug the sounds so much that only minor things where messed with, such as just putting in a little more bite onto the snare and a getting a bit more of room sound applied to kick. So we’re waiting on Mike to send us the mix for the 3rd track on the EP and, seemingly, the 1st single, video and all - Histories and the Making. It will be cool, to take the best parts from both mixes and combine them get the best sound we can get.

Video wise, we’ve all agreed on the concept now, The Production Team is now writing up a Treatment for the shoot so things are moving forward nicely on that front.

Cool, thanks to all who check this stuff out, we’ll try to update more as things get more interesting EP wise.

Cheers,
ManINsuiT

Tom is not my friend

Tom Anderson is not my friendThis week two of the more emotionally detached members in ManINsuiT, tired of the small talk, committed myspace suicide.

Destroying their personal profiles in hope of more stimulating experiences, new chapter of liberty has opened on these bad boys. No more bullshit bulletins, pretty picture comments, miserable ringtone messages or meaningless penis enlargement comments. Rob and Bryan said “We have no further comments… for myspace”

We are joyful to announce that at Fridays Skate Park show in Somerset, Steve Alfred Benjamin will join the pack. Get your dancing shoes out children.. it’s party time!

BFTS Day 12

Bryan The Dark LordSo today was the final day of recording where we basically had to go back and touch up a few vocal lines, guitar lines etc.

We started by re-recording the intro gallop for ‘Battle’ and harmonizing a couple of the intro leads twice over. We also added a few double ups and harmonies over the lead vocals. We then moved on to the guitar solo in the 3rd track Histories and the Making. This proved alot tougher than we had anticipated. The guitar part was meant to be a blistering-fast-burn-your-face off solo but when heard within the context of the song it actually just sounded like jacking off and kind of killed the feel of the track. Being the genius Bryan Anthony is, he came up with some new ideas after much coaxing verbal abuse from Scott and Mike. The end result is more of a bluesy lead meets Bad Religion which worked way better and lent itself to strengthening the final chorus. Yay for Bryan and beer without which creativity would be dead.

We all then sat back and listened to the entire EP, filled in some rough parts, added some sick bass and guitar slides and decided to program every single drumbeat because Scott was not in the room. Sadly as we where starting the wanker walked in and we where left with his technically retarded percussion.

Finally we all went into the vocal booth separately to do gang vocals for the tracks that needed them.

Tomorrow we head home…finally. Two weeks of eating shit, drinking shit and living with five guys in a tiny flat had taken its toll.
Scotts gut has grown, Brents ears have grown, Bryans beard has gone gray, Kamils liver has packed out and Robs already massive ego now has to be stored in the luggage compartment on airplanes.

Seriously though its been a really awesome time, more like a holiday than anything else. Recording an EP that everyone of us is extremely proud of with guys who worked on it with same dedication we had when writing it.

Thanks go out to Mike and Chris for being the coolest guys. Roz for the accommodation. And Gary!!! for the organization, transportation and laughs.

Now its onto mixing, mastering and production. The months ahead look set to be hectic.

Cheers and thanks to everyone who’s been reading these blogs and enjoying the ride along with us!
