Merry New Years!
With everything finished and done and only the final product to wait for, MIS is taking a break from planning, launching and everything to do with the colossus that was Battle for the Sky. Thankfully the break coincides with the wildest part of the year! The festive season and New Years!
Rob is off to Mozambique to catch some good waves, drink some tasty foreign beer and succumb to malaria. Brent, niC and Swanny are off up the east coast to Stilbaai.
(Pictured below is Brent on our recent tour to Pretoria who found some east coast buddies)

Scott is MIA. Although rumour has it he’ll be heading to Cape to Cuba (huh?). Kamil and Bryan Anthony will hopefully hit up Vortex.
Merry New Years to you all!! Have a great one!
Man In Suit
Photoshoot One

Yesterday we headed off into the depths of Cape Town and took our first photos to tie in with the new concept of the album. Stay tuned for a full report on the outing.
BFTS Day 11
Well today Rob finally got his chance to record his bass. I sat with him and Chris though most of the recording. It went well on my
opinion. A couple changes were made in pretty much each song, Rob and Chris taking their time to get every riff and rhythm perfectly in place with either the kick or the guitars.
After Rob was through dominating on the bass Bryan and I proceeded to complete the guitars for the intro. This was the last bit of guitaring I had to do for the EP and it was the easiest, a couple of layers later it was all over for me. Intro was done and the evening was on its way, we finished up with a bit of gang vocals and then got our drink on! We decided to go big 2nite and headed to Melville Cool Runnings.
When 12 struck it was Kamils birthday and he definitely proved to us his is a worthy member of the suits! It was out of control, just the way we like it, and loads of fun.
Cheers,
Brent aka. Heiny
BFTS Day 07
Today Bryan and I recorded ‘A Principle in Motion’ on guitar after a rough night in the flat. We approached this track slightly different than before by recording each track together layer by layer which worked really well for this one. Bryan then proceeded to record his vocals for Future man which sounding unique to anything else he’s recorded previously and it’s sounding awesome!
I want to now tell you a bit about yesterday and the gear we’ve been fortunate enough to use. I recorded guitar for ‘Future Man’, which is one of my favorite tracks on the EP. I did about 12 layers for most of the track and the last section about 16 layers. Firstly, I used my Epiphone – Les Paul which is my bitch, an Ibanez - Roadstar second series with EMG pickups and an ESP – Ltd Deluxe with Seymour Duncan pickups through a Mesa Boogie - Dual Rectifier amp head into a Marshall cabinet. Then I used the ESP through a Fender – Bassman export amp head into the Marshall cabinet which had a natural gain when the sound was cranked up, which sounded like AC\DC stadium rock ‘n roll mother fucker. Think I may have even used Bryans Ibanez – S540 for a couple of layers. All in all you get the idea of some of the gear we using of guitar.
By the end of it all the guitar sounded rich and full unmixed which is great and something we’ve never experienced before. At the moment this recording session has been a great, relaxing holiday for me with minimal responsibilities besides to dominate my guitar parts and have fun with a bunch of cocks.
Cheers,
Brent
BFTS Day 04
After arriving yesterday with a hangover and enough cash to get liquored for 10 days, I’m feeling pretty stoked right now.
Everything is nicely set up with some new faces in the studio. The flat is only a few steps away from where I recorded my parts for Battle for the Sky and History and the Making today.
Both songs went really well, having recorded Battle before, it was pretty easy. I just added some slight rhythm changes and a couple more layers than last time. The guitar tone is sounding fucking amazing!!!
Right now we just got back from the bottle store with a bit of alcohol for tonight, gonna play some poker so if you ampt to join us and in the Roosevelt park vicinity drop us an email.
Cheers,
Brent
